Product Description

SRI ORION Sutures’ Polypropylene Suture is accessible under the brand name of Duracare. Featured with monofilament structure, this suture is made of crystalline stereoisomer of synthetic polyolefin polymer of polypropylene. Commonly referred as Prolene suture, this synthetic suture is used as long lasting wound supporting solution and it is non absorbable by nature.

Known for its exceptional tensility level, this blue suture is suitable for cardiac surgery; general wound closure; micro, plastic as well as orthopedic surgeries.

The implantation of this suture causes mild tissue reactivity. It does not cause contamination or fracture of treated wounded part.

  • The monofilament suture of polypropylene is accessible in U.S.P size of 2 to 5.
  • This blue suture is made of polymer and co polymer of polypropylene and it is used for plastic, cardiac and permanent fixture based surgeries.

  • The suture of Duracare is easy to knot and it smoothly goes through tissues without sticking to tissues.
  • Its implantation results in mild tissue reaction.
  • Good knotting characteristics
  • It is accessible with alloy steel made pointed, high strength and ergonomic needle (300 series).
  • Its tensility level is not affected during knotting.

The non absorbable attributes of Duracare suture complies with the standards of the United States Pharmacopoeia. Known for its C3H6 molecular formula, this sterilized monofilament suture is the synthetic polymer of polypropylene.

This Polypropylene Suture is recommended for ligation, ophthalmic, cardiovascular, neurological and soft tissue approximation based surgeries propose.

The implanting of Duracare suture causes negligible tissue inflammation. This non absorbable suture does not lose its tensile strength due to enzymatic reaction of tissue. Being inert by nature, it is suggested to be used for surgeries where less suture reactivity is desired. This monofilament based suture is used for contaminated tissues of wounded section for inhibiting generation of sinus.

  • Cardiovascular surgery, Neurosurgery
  • Being absorbable not to use when an extended wound support is required.
  • Caution in patients with delayed wound healing (e.g. compromised immune system).
  • In the region of infected wounds Known sensitivities or allergies to collagen or chromium
